Slovakia will host the 98th International F.I.C.C. Rally next year, one of the world’s largest events in camping and caravanning. The gathering offers a platform to showcase the country as a travel destination and is expected to draw thousands.

“We hosted the rally in 1974 and 1991,” said Jaroslav Mišura, head of the Slovak Camping and Caravanning Association. “Caravanning has come a long way since, and we’re ready for the challenge.”

The last global rally took place in Taiwan in 2025, following editions in Italy, China, Germany and Spain.

Caravanning is booming across Europe, with over 20 million enthusiasts and annual spending topping €50 billion. Even a small share of that could bring hundreds of thousands of overnight stays to Slovakia, Mišura noted.

Slovak Tourism Association head Marek Harbuľák stressed the need for investment in infrastructure to support the sector’s growth. “This is exactly what the Tourism Support Fund should be backing,” he said.
