Members and supporters of Hungary's right-wing Movement for a Better Hungary (Jobbik) party again blocked one lane of roads leading to three border crossings into Slovakia on December 1.
The three crossings were Slovenské Darmoty (Banská Bystrica region)-Balassagyarmat, Šahy (Nitra region)-Parassapuszta and Ipolytarnocz. Jobbik county organisation leader Szilárd Palotai said that the blockade is an expression of disagreement with the anti-Hungarian policies of the Slovak government, the crackdown by Slovak police against Hungarian football fans in Dunajská Streda (Trnava region), and the ineffectiveness of official policy in Budapest concerning these issues.
"The police are present at all three locations," said Eva Dankone Nagy, the Nograd county police command spokesperson. She added that the protests aren't causing any problems for road traffic.
Jobbik, along with members of the far-right Hungarian Guard, blocked lanes for the same reasons at six border crossings between November 10-13. TASR
