The party of former president Andrej Kiska keeps rising in the opinion polls.
This stems from a recent poll carried out by the Focus agency for the coalition of the Progressive Slovakia (PS) and Spolu (Together) parties, as reported by the Sme daily.
Za Ľudí (For the People) would come third in the poll carried out between October 30 and November 6 on 1,020 staffers, winning the support of 10.6 percent of the vote, which is 1.5 percentage points more than in October.
The most votes would go to Smer, which fell in the latest poll from October’s 22 percent to only 20 percent. The PS and Spolu coalition would follow, winning the support of 11.7 percent of respondents, up by 0.7 percentage points.
On November 11, Za Ľudí signed the non-aggression agreement between the PS/Spolu coalition and the non-parliamentary Christian Democratic Movement (KDH). Kiska said that the agreement now contains a promise not to collaborate with Smer, the Slovak National Party (SNS) and extremists after the elections, the TASR newswire reported.

Far-right People’s Party – Our Slovakia (ĽSNS) of Marian Kotleba would also make it into parliament with the support of 10.3 percent (up by 0.1 percentage points), followed by Sme Rodina (We Are Family) of Boris Kollár with 7 percent (down by 0.2 percentage points), and SNS with 6.8 percent (down by 0.1 percentage points).
Another three parties are just above the 5-percent threshold necessary to get through. This includes KDH and the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) with 5.7 percent each, and the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party with only 5 percent.
