UPDATED: Kočner's text messages point to close contacts with Fico

The man who faces charges of ordering the double murder used to meet with the former PM and talk on the phone with the former interior minister.

Marian Kočner used to phone former interior minister Robert Kalinak and meet with former prime minister Robert Fico, according to the messages found on his mobile phone.

The Denník N daily published some of the messages that Kočner was sending through the Threema app and that the police have decoded from his smartphone. Roman Kvasnica, the attorney of the murdered Martina's mother Zlatica Kušnírová, told the daily that this communication could be decisive evidence against him and Alena Zsuzsová. The pair have been charged with ordering the murder since autumn 2018. Both are in custody at the moment, Kočner due to another case, the promissory notes case.
