Lack of administrators damaging Slovakia's EU grant proposals

The gap between applications for EU funding from Slovakia and other candidate countries is growing, according to European Commission ambassador to Slovakia Eric van den Linden.

"Slovak administrative capacity is unequivocally insufficient," said van den Linden. "If it doesn't improve, [Slovakia] will ultimately use only a very small amount from the funds."

He added that he was not surprised that Brussels had warned Slovakia about the situation in a meeting on Monday.
