Dear readers,
After nine months as editor-in-chief of The Slovak Spectator, I am stepping down to take a new job.
I will be replaced by Beata Balogová, who has worked at the private news agency SITA as a news editor and political analyst for six years.
Beata graduated from Comenius University's School of Journalism and spent one and a half years at the University of Missouri's School of Journalism as a Fulbright fellow. On her return from the United States, she worked as a news editor for the English-language section of the state-run news agency TASR, before moving to SITA in 1997.
I take away many happy memories of Slovakia, and wish the country and its inhabitants all the best for the future.
Rachel Salaman
Editor-in-Chief
