In its noon news program on February 23, private Radio TWIST broadcast an audio recording that if authentic is hard evidence of Lexa's direct involvement in the abduction of Michal Kováč Jr. on August 31, 1995. Parliamentary deputies identified Lexa's voice in the recording.
Lexa denied his involvement in the abduction and he says the shocking findings of Radio Twist are fabricated. He says manipulations of Radio Twist are "driving him nuts." Lexa argued that the recording could have come from a different day than the one when Kováč Jr. was abducted. When asked what he would do if it is proven that the recording is authentic, he refused to answer, the SITA news agency reported.
