If parliamentary elections took place between September 20 and 24, the new party of Daniel Lipšic, New Majority, would make it into parliament, according to a telephone opinion poll conducted by the Polis polling agency. The party attracted the support of 5.3 percent of the 1,011 respondents surveyed, the SITA newswire reported.
The current ruling Smer party attracted 42.6-percent support, followed by Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) on 9.3 percent, Most-Híd on 7.4 percent, the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) on 7.1 percent, Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) on 6.5 percent, and the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH), Lipšic’s former party, on 6 percent.
