Mapping volunteers’ work

THE GOAL of a new campaign called Volunteers’ Trace is to follow volunteering activities and provide a message about them.

The campaign, organised by the Inex Slovakia civic association, strives to show the enthusiasm of volunteers and attract others – especially young people – to become volunteers.

“We also want to encourage joining volunteering projects worldwide,” Peter Husák of Inex Slovakia told the TASR newswire. He added that anyone can become a volunteer, regardless of the place, country, age or length of the activity. The crucial thing is to engage and feel like changing something.

People can leave their volunteering trace anywhere. In December, Inex Slovakia will publish the map on its website, which will show where the traces of volunteering have been left. In the end, the civic association will select three people involved in volunteering for awards.

“By the end of year, we will know how many people were involved and how many have helped to change the world for better through volunteering,” Husák added.
