MEP profile: Vladimír Maňka

Vladimír Maňka was born in 1959 in Lučenec. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. He served as a deputy for the Party of Democratic Left in the Slovak parliament from 1998 to 2002. From 1999 to 2005 he was also the mayor of Zvolen. He has served as an MEP since 2004 and is a member of the Committee on Budgets. He is vice-chairman of Smer.
