Members of the European Parliament are calling to re-open the cases of missing journalists in Slovakia: Miroslav Pejko, a reporter for the Hospodárske Noviny daily who went missing in March 2015, and Pavol Rýpal, a reporter for private broadcaster TV Markíza who disappeared in 2008.
This is one of the reasons why the EP delegation, which visited Slovakia in early March in connection with the murder of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová, want to return, the TASR newswire reported.

“I expect this delegation will continue,” Slovak MEP József Nagy (Most-Híd) who represents the European People’s Party (EPP) faction in the EP, told TASR before the March 14 plenary session.
They will ask for further information and documents which they did not have at their disposal during their last visit, he added.
Pejko disappeared under strange circumstances
Pejko started his career with the regional newspaper MY Banskobystrické Noviny. He later moved to the Bratislava section at Hospodárske Noviny. He contacted his family and friends for the last time on March 17, 2015 and then went missing, MY Banskobystrické Noviny reported.
Though a nationwide search was declared, there have been no results as yet. The circumstances of his departure from his temporary residence on Železničiarska Street in Bratislava are very strange. He did not take any of his personal documents or a mobile phone with him and left the flat in ordinary clothes.
Before his disappearance, Pejko had reported about several serious economic topics, MY Banskobystrické Noviny reported.
