At an extraordinary meeting Monday the cabinet agreed that ministers could submit comments or objections to the sale plan for a 49 per cent stake in gas utility SPP until February 22, and that the comments would be considered thereafter by the government and the privatisation commission. The sale advisor, however, has said any changes to the plan so close to the deadline for binding offers – February 28 – could affect the price the state receives for SPP, or even result in bidders withdrawing from the tender.
