The Construction and Regional Development Ministry was not able to immediately comment on the decision that the cabinet adopted on April 23 to commit Minister Igor Stefanov to cancel the so-called bulletin-board tender contract, reported the TASR newswire.

Ministry spokesperson Dagmar Vanečková told TASR late on April 23 that “we only have information from the media. We haven't even received any official information that an extraordinary session of the government on this matter would be held today (Thursday, April 23),” she said.

During the day, Štefanov was at an international conference in the Czech town of Mariánske Lázně. On April 20, Štefanov had said that he would meet European Commissioner for Regional Policy Danuta Hübner at the conference. “I'll update her on the results of investigations by the Public Procurement Office (ÚVO),” he said. ÚVO recently reported that it had found serious errors by the ministry in applying the Public Procurement Act. TASR
