The Specialised Criminal Court (ŠTS) in Banská Bystrica opened the case on April 13 of this year and the verdict came in on June 29, the TASR newswire wrote. Viliam Mišenka was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the especially grave crime of attempted premeditated murder – he ordered and paid for the killing of his sister-in-law Zuzana Mišenková who, however, survived the explosion. His co-defendant Ján K. who allegedly executed the murder and who serves nine years for other crimes received a summary life sentence. The verdicts are not effective as of yet, as Mišenka immediately appealed, as did the lawyer of Ján K.

The verdict was possible thanks to the evidence and testimony given by witness Milan Pavlovič who serves 25 years for the premeditated murder of Topoľčany businessman Jozef Mišenka, the nephew of Viliam. Other testimonies supported his.
Ján K. decided to kill Zuzana Mišenková with an explosive brought into the company in August 2009 by Peter Hertl, who died in the explosion. It was detonated remotely. Several people were seriously injured and the court deemed it a miracle that no more people died in the attack.

Viliam Mišenka denied his guilt while the prosecutor expressed satisfaction with the verdict. Ján K. admitted acquiring the explosive but denies that he gave it to Hertl. Mišenka who was accused and acquitted in several cases of serious crimes claims this is another conspiracy against him, aimed at exterminating him due to the social order.
