First, the Žilina police investigated his statements; later, NAKA took over and in January, it launched a criminal prosecution for defamation of race and nation ,the private TA3 TV channel informed, as cited by Sme. Mazurek allegedly publicly spoke in a way about the Roma that could potentially incite hatred.

In the interview, Mazurek also said that for him, the first and only true Slovak president was Jozef Tiso, the World-War-II-era president later executed for collaboration with Nazis.

The Council for Broadcasting and Re-transmission is also dealing with the radio, as it received a complaint against the host who did not react to Mazurek’s statements. The proceedings should be concluded in April.
