New flight to Dubai to be launched

FLYDUBAI airlines will launch the third regular flight from Bratislava to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Except for two return flights that take place on Tuesday and Saturday it will also operate a flight connection on Wednesdays as of January 14, 2015. The reason for increasing the number of flights is the increased interest in the destination, the SITA newswire reported.

During the promotion for the new regular flight, the airlines announced they will consider further extension based on the number of passengers.

The flydubai company launched its flights from Bratislava to Dubai on December 6. It uses the plane type Boeing 737-800 with a capacity of 174 seats, of which 162 are in economy and 12 in business class. The flight lasts 5.5 hours, with the return flight lasting six hours and 10 minutes.

This addition is one of five new routes launched by flydubai from its hub at Dubai International, the world’s second busiest airport. The announcement marks a significant expansion of flydubai’s footprint across central and southeast Europe, and brings the number of route launches to 23 in 2014.

“At flydubai we aim to provide customers with convenient and affordable routes to traditionally underserved locations,” Ghaith Al Ghaith, head of flydubai, said, as quoted by SITA. “We are very pleased to add Bratislava to our growing list of destinations.”

The Bratislava airport considers the new regular flights to Dubai a great business success.

“It is for the first time in history for BTS Airport to have a new scheduled flight to this favourite destination,” said Ivan Trhlík, head of the airport, as quoted by SITA.
