No secret CIA jails in Slovakia, says Justice Minister

THERE ARE no secret CIA jails for Al-Quaeda terrorists in Slovakia, said Slovak Justice Minister Daniel Lipšic, responding to information published by The Washington Post which claimed the US secret service have such jails in Eastern Europe.

According to the US daily, the CIA is holding and quesioning 30 of the most important members of Osama bin Laden's terrorist network, the SME daily wrote.

"CIA does not hold anyone in our state," said Lipšic.

"We have no awareness of anything like that," added Juraj Tomaga, the spokesman for the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry.

According to The Washington Post the system of secret jails was created after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and that CIA concluded agreements with eight countries in 2002 and 2003.
