Orange's H1 revenues down

REVENUES of the biggest mobile phone operator in Slovakia, Orange Slovensko, shrank 7 percent year-on-year to €319.3 million in the first half of 2013.

REVENUES of the biggest mobile phone operator in Slovakia, Orange Slovensko, shrank 7 percent year-on-year to €319.3 million in the first half of 2013.

“The continued regulation of interconnection fees and roaming rates contributed by more than half to this drop,” spokesperson for Orange Slovensko Alexandra Piskunová said, as cited by the SITA newswire.

Within revenues from mobile services those from mobile non-voice services were the fastest growing item. Their share on total revenues was 22 percent, increasing by 2 percent y/y. Revenues from fixed services played an increasingly important role in the company’s results, making up almost 3 percent of total revenues and posting a 26-percent y/y increase.

In the first half of this year 323,000 post-paid clients signed or extended a contract with Orange. At the end of June the operator registered 2.899 million active clients, with 2.787 million being clients of mobile services. The number of users of fixed-line internet and digital TV grew 80 percent y/y to almost 112,000.

In the first half of this year 21,630 clients switched their number to Orange, which is 3.5 times more than in the same period last year. On the other hand, 50,448 Orange clients moved their number to another operator in the monitored period.

France Telecom controls a 100-percent stake in Orange Slovensko through Atlas Services Belgium.
