If HZDS party caucus announces its nominee for the post of Deputy Speaker of Parliament (Vice-Chair) to replace Viliam Veteška who died last week, a confidential vote to approve the nomination could take place at 17:00 on Tuesday, April 28 the TASR newswire was told by parliament's press department head Elena Valovičová.
“The confidential vote in this case should also include the nomination of a new chairman for the parliamentary committee for education, youth, science and sport to replace Ferdinand Devínsky (SDKÚ-DS) who resigned last week,” said Valovičová.
The vice-chair needs 76 votes out of the total 150 members in Parliament to be officially nominated to the post. Parliament has four vice-chairs: Milan Číž from Smer-SD, Anna Belousovová from SNS, Milan Hort from SDKÚ, and the one to be nominated by HZDS. The vice-chairs manage and organise individual parliamentary activities as delegated by Parliamentary Chairman Pavol Paška of Smer. TASR
