Parliamentary committee to interview candidates for general prosecutor's job

Three candidates for the position of general prosecutor will attend a hearing of parliament’s constitutional and legal affairs committee on Wednesday, October 27, the SITA newswire reported, citing committee chairman Radoslav Procházka.

Three of the four ruling coalition parties – Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) and Most-Híd – have nominated Eva Mišíkova, a prosecutor at the Office of the General Prosecutor.

Ján Hrivnák, a prosecutor at the Office of the Special Prosecutor, was nominated by Jana Dubovcová, a former judge and now MP for the fourth coalition party, the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ).

Another SDKÚ MP, Stanislav Janiš, along with opposition MP Mojmír Mamojka (Smer) have nominated the incumbent general prosecutor, Dobroslav Trnka.
