President Kiska is the most-trusted politician followed by Fico and Danko

The public opinion poll also showed that 20.3 percent of the respondents do not trust anyone.

President Andrej Kiska is viewed as the most trustworthy politician in Slovakia, enjoying the trust of 23.4 percent of respondents to a poll carried out by the Focus agency. Prime Minister Robert Fico of the governing Smer party was runner-up on the list of most trustworthy politicians with 23 percent, followed by the Speaker of Parliament Andrej Danko of the coalition Slovak National Party (SNS) on 14.3 percent, the TASR newswire reported.

The top three most trustworthy politicians were followed by opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party head Richard Sulik (12.1 percent), opposition We Are Family party leader Boris Kollár (10.9 percent), coalition Most-Híd party head Béla Bugár (10.1 percent), opposition OĽaNO party head Igor Matovič (10.1 percent), Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák of Smer (9.2 percent), Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák (8.6 percent), OĽaNO MP Veronika Remišová (7.5 percent) and Marian Kotleba of the far-right LSNS party (6.4 percent).

Other politicians were deemed trustworthy by less than 5 percent of the respondents.

The Focus survey was carried out between January 23-28 on a sample of 1,012 respondents. They answered the question: “Which politicians or politicians in Slovakia do you trust most? Give us the names of three politicians you trust the most”.

The poll also showed that 20.3 percent of the respondents didn’t trust anyone, while 7.8 percent didn’t know how to answer the question.
