President Rudolf Schuster said "the more we talk about it, the worse it gets" regarding two cases of alleged illegal surveillance of the political elite in Slovakia, which are currently under investigation.
In one of the cases, head of the ruling ANO party Pavol Rusko received a tape on which his interview with a reporter was recorded. More recently, transcripts came to light that show an influential Bratislava businessman talking about a Swiss bank account with former telecoms minister Gabriel Palacka, a member of PM Mikulas Dzurinda's SDKÚ party.
During the president's February 27 meeting with Dzurinda and Speaker of Parliament Pavol Hrusovsky, the officials also talked about the planned campaign ahead of a referendum on Slovakia's EU entry.
