The Slovak Supreme Court has ordered the release of a former aide of Prime Minister Iveta Radičová, Martin Novotný, who has been accused in a corruption case surrounding construction of a sports facility in Osrblie. The Specialised Criminal Court in Pezinok refused to release him two weeks ago over concerns that Novotný might contact businessman Pavol Prečuch with a view to thwarting the investigation.
Peter Kňazík and ex-ambassador Jozef Líška have also been charged in the Osrblie corruption case. The latter is believed to have accepted a bribe amounting to €30,000, one tenth of the state subsidy paid to build the facility, from Kňazík, who received the construction contract.
