The prosecution has stopped criminal prosecution in connection with the alleged information leak from the security clearance file of the former director of the National Security Office (NBÚ), Ján Mojžiš, reported private television Markíza.
Prosecutor Ján Bernát claimed that the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS) had not provided any information from Mojžiš' security file to PM Mikuláš Dzurinda and the file that he received from the SIS was the intelligence service's own document, news wire SITA reported.
The prosecutor said Dzurinda and SIS Director Ladislav Pittner did not breach the law, and had not abused their power or exposed confidential data.
Early September, Dzurinda announced that he had lost trust in Mojžiš and proposed his recall, without specifying his reasons. The first cabinet vote on this proposal on September 10 ended in a tie. Mojžiš was dismissed in a second attempt on October 2.
Meanwhile, Pittner sent a letter to Dzurinda containing information about Mojžiš, which the NBÚ dubbed an illegal action.
