On December 20, the Sme daily wrote that a donor to the ruling Smer-SD party had been rewarded with a construction contract worth Sk36 million.
The company is Ikores. It is owned by Jozef Kopecký, who has donated Sk200,000 to Smer-SD. The contract was awarded by the Labour Ministry, headed by Viera Tomanová, who was already in hot water earlier this year over a lack of transparency in awarding funds.
The Labour Ministry denies cronyism played a role in selecting Ikores. SITA
