IVETA Radičová, former prime minister and former member of the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ), has returned to politics, albeit only in the form of a book of interviews she preparedwith journalist Ľuba Lesná. The book, entitled ‘The Country of Thick Lines’, will be published at the end of April, the SITA newswire reported.
“She is absolutely open in perceiving and processing the objective facts and in drawing the consequences that flow from these facts,” Lesná said, as quoted by SITA.
Radičová’s book discusses, among other things, the fall of her government, with details of the negotiations with Freedom and Solidarity, as well as the vote on the new general prosecutor, SITA wrote.
Meanwhile, the Sme daily published an extract from the book in its weekend edition, which referred to a meeting between Radičová and Dobroslav Trnka, who currently serves as deputy prosecutor general, held before the second vote for the new general prosecutor, in which Trnka competed with Jozef Čentéš, during which he showed her documents related to, among other things, the case over the dubious financing of the SDKÚ party.
Trnka responded to this section with an open letter, in which he wrote that this “lady who is giving lessons about decency, does not have to disclose the contents of a two-person conversation”, adding that it is not appropriate.
