While there are still so many unknowns in the future of Slovakia, I am heartily reassured that there will not be a government led by Mečiar in its near future.
Even though I spent nine months of the last year in Slovakia, I was still surprised by how much this election mattered to me. I guess the country has a way of getting under one's skin and into one's heart.
Now if we can only get the Roma to be treated as human beings, we'll be going places.
