Róbert Remiáš, 26, was turning his BMW through the Karlova Ves section of Bratislava when it suddenly exploded around 10:00 p.m. on April 28. He died on the spot.
Remiáš was the best friend of Oskar Fegyveres, a former agent of the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS) who told investigators that he assisted the SIS in the August 1995 kidnapping of Michal Kováč Jr., the son of the Slovak president.
Remiáš, a police officer who left the force in December, was the contact person between Fegyveres, now in hiding, and his relatives, investigators, journalists and opposition politicians.
