Amazon one of the world’s biggest online retailers, will open a contact centre in Bratislava, the internet portal Živé.sk reported on Tuesday, March 22. The centre should open as early as May 1 and create about 100 jobs.
The company has already published job advertisements via the Profesia.sk job portal but recruitment is being conducted via a recruitment agency rather than under Amazon’s own name, Živé.sk wrote, as quoted by the Sme daily.
In the first phase, Amazon is reportedly looking for employees to offer customer support for the German market. Later, according to unconfirmed reports, support for English-speaking markets could also be added.
It is not yet clear whether Amazon will also open a branch of its online store in Slovakia. However, it has already registered the domain name Amazon.sk, Živé.sk wrote.
Economy Minister Juraj Miškov last week announced an investment by one of the biggest online companies in the world, but did not specify the company’s name or the location of their investment. According to him, the company would create a service centre with jobs for at least 300 people.
