ARGUING that the commissions that deal with Slovakia's drawing of EU funds contain too many theoreticians, Economy Minister Pavol Rusko is presently pushing for a revamp.
The Slovak daily SME reported on November 26 that Rusko wants to bring business people into the posts because he believes they would be better qualified to pick projects that have realistic chances of succeeding.
Rusko wants to nominate members of the Slovak business alliance (PAS) and the Club 500 to the commissions.
Fearing that the possible changes could endanger Slovakia's drawing of EU funds, Deputy PM for EU Integration Pál Csáky has declined to meet with Rusko.
