Schools only have enough money to last till October

Schools are to receive a further Sk5 billion (€120 million) from the state this week, but they claim this will only last until October, and that they need a further Sk1.2 million (€30 million).

The state secretary from the Education Ministry, František Tóth, said that there were no grounds for schools not to teach either now or in October.

Several schools in the capital have already been temporarily closed for the non-payment of electricity or gas bills.
