As of next month, SkyEurope Airlines will expand its range of destinations in European countries, spokesman Tomáš Kika told the TASR newswire on May 28.

Over the past years, attention has been focused mainly on the United Kingdom, and flights have been in operation since October 2007 from Košice. According to Kika, on June 30 the company will launch a regular Košice-Manchester flight three times a week - on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

As of July 6, the SkyEurope planes will fly Košice-London Luton, and Poprad (Prešov region)-London Luton four times a week. Kika said that the SkyEurope will also increase the frequency of its flights to Prague, especially morning connections, in which great interest has been shown. In winter 2008/2009 the company is considering opening other lines, for instance to Amsterdam.

"We can see great potential in the development of eastern Slovakia, and therefore as of July we will place a 149-seat Boeing 737-700 along with some of our personnel to Košice airport," added Kika.
