Slovak bureaucracy repels German investor

German company RWE shelved its investment plans linked to Slovakia due to the inflexibility of Slovak bureaucrats.

RWE disliked that each contract the company signs must be in Slovak, while excessive duties of employers repelled the investor too.

Some other foreign investors also have their complaints. The Molex firm operating in eastern Slovakia finds communication between the authorities and investors ineffective. "No one has explained important changes to rules for tax holidays to the firm," Miloš Somora of Molex said.
