An MP from the Movement for Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) Katarina Tothova, has proposed establishing so-called mobile courts to deal with vandalism cases at sport venues, and parliament passed her proposal to second reading on February 4, the TASR newswire reported.
With this amendment to the Penal Code, Tóthová aims at prosecuting vandals and individuals who behave inappropriately at sporting events right on the spot.
She said she was inspired by the Czech Republic where such a method is in effect. “We had such a provision in our previous Penal Code [in the Czechoslovak federation]; unfortunately, it was ruled out by the former government. Hence, we want to bring it back again,” said Tóthová to TASR. TASR
