The Slovak Philharmonic will celebrate its return to its reconstructed home, the Reduta building in Bratislava, with concerts on January 26 and January 27, the SITA newswire reported.
The building's reconstruction cost about €30 million, almost €7 million less than originally planned, SITA wrote, with €2 million coming from grants from the European Economic Area (EEA) and Norway. However, reconstruction is not totally complete as interior furnishings still must be finished after a failed public procurement.
At a press conference on January 23, Culture Minister Daniel Krajcer stated that the Reduta is a part of Slovak cultural heritage and traditions.
"We are tired but happy that it's done and that we've met the originally planned deadline which we were hoping for. We're finally returning to the Reduta," said the Slovak Philharmonic’s director general, Marián Lapšanský, as quoted by SITA.
