The mandatory quota system was adopted by EU interior ministers on September 22. According to the plan, the countries should redistribute 120,000 people who obviously need international protection. Slovakia should take 802 refugees immediately, and another 656 in case of need.
Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania voted against the adoption, while Finland abstained from the vote.
