Kubiš was responding to the European Commission’s plan to delay the entry of the Visegrad Four states into the border-free Schengen zone. He said he views such attempts to change the terms of integration of the V4 states into the Schengen zone very negatively and as at odds with the previous agreement.

He added that the issue will be discussed by the V4 foreign ministers during an upcoming UN General Assembly in New York.
