SLOVAKIA sent humanitarian aid to African regions most seriously stricken by Ebola worth €90,000 via the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Foreign Affairs Ministry announced October 29.
The aid, initiated by Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák, will be provided from the Interior Ministry’s reserves.
“It concerns tents, beds, blankets, lighting, towels, generators, sinks and toilets as equipment for field hospitals,” the ministry said, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
The consignment will be delivered by a lorry to the Netherlands, from where it will be further shipped to Guinea.
Slovakia earlier contributed with €15,000 towards the fight against Ebola in Africa, TASR wrote.
