SLOVAKIA is likely to become a full member of NATO on April 2, when the seven new members' flags are expected to be ceremonially raised outside NATO headquarters at a spring session of foreign ministers, a Brussels source told the TASR news wire.
France gave its final approval to the alliance's expansion last week, and all ratification documents will now be submitted to the US government.
NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer will next ask members-in-waiting to ratify their own entry by mid-March. Slovakia is the only one to have done so.
