Output in Slovakia’s construction sector grew 5.3 percent year-on-year in May 2007. According to data gathered by the European Statistical Office Eurostat, this was the sixth highest growth among the thirteen EU countries that provided data. In the entire 27-member EU, construction production grew 1.9 percent on average and posted a 0.1 percent increase compared with April.
However, Slovak construction output did fall 2.1 percent from the previous month, the second highest monthly decrease within EU countries that provided data to Eurostat.
