A TOTAL of 51 percent of Slovaks are not able to judge the advantages and disadvantages of the European constitutional treaty, according to a poll carried out by RCA Research, the TASR news wire reported.
Nearly a third of Slovaks consider the treaty an asset while 17 percent consider it disadvantageous. In the poll, 54 percent said that there should have been a referendum on the treaty in Slovakia while 25 percent approve of parliament passing the treaty.
The poll also asked people to evaluate Slovakia's EU membership. A total of 40 percent of respondents think that EU membership has been beneficial for Slovakia, while 37.6 percent think EU membership has neither been an asset nor a loss.
