The Slovak National Party (SNS) is expected to file a criminal complaint in the next few days against the director of the Fair Play Alliance, Zuzana Wienk, as a response to her organisation’s statements regarding a tender at the Construction Ministry, which is headed by SNS nominee Marián Janušek, SNS spokesperson Jana Benková told the TASR newswire on February 16.
Wienk had held a press conference on February 13 at which time she said that there were serious errors in the tender accounting documents that the ministry had provided to the Alliance.
“The tender isn’t transparent, it represents cronyism and it’s a cover up,” said Wienk at the press conference.
SNS chairman Ján Slota responded by saying that Wienk’s accusations were lies. Wienk said in reaction to SNS's latest move that she sees no reason for a criminal complaint against her and that her press conference didn't focus on the party but on the tender at the ministry.
“I consider this to be an attempt to intimidate me. Our findings are correct and true, they evaluated the documents that we were provided [by the ministry],” said Wienk, adding that the Alliance has the constitutional right to publish its findings.
The ministry had awarded this tender in late 2008 to a consortium that included two companies said to be close to Slota. TASR
