IN DECEMBER almost 55 percent of respondents supported the country's entry into NATO in a poll conducted by the Institute for the Research of Culture and Public Opinion (ÚVVM).
This is an increase of two percentage points over a similar poll conducted in September.
According to the most recent ÚVVM poll, 23 percent of the respondents definitely support, and 32 percent are more for than against the country's NATO membership. The poll says that 41 percent are against.
Support for NATO in Slovakia posted a gradual increase during the year - from 48.3 percent in April to 52.8 percent in September and finally reaching the current 54.8 percent.
