The Supreme Court sided with the Trenčín Regional Court in dismissing a complaint brought against the Trenčín Regional Construction Office by civil associations and residents protesting the construction of a highway set to be built above the town of Považská Bystrica.

The verdict cannot be appealed in Slovakia, so the plaintiffs are considering taking the case to the European court. The Supreme Court's verdict only examined whether there was a legal basis for the construction.
