T-Systems Slovakia seeks state aid of over €5 million

Košice-based company T-Systems Slovakia is seeking state assistance worth €5.08 million for expanding its IT centre, which provides services in information and communications technologies, according to a proposal on the provision of investment aid that the Economy Ministry has submitted for inter-ministerial comments.

Of the total, €1.4 million consists of tax relief, while the remainder - €3.68 million - is sought for creating new jobs, the TASR newswire wrote on August 25. The company placed its request with the ministry on July 31. A total of 350 new jobs should be created by 2016.

T-Systems is a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom that deals with IT systems development and their remote management. It focuses on corporate and public-sector clients. T-Systems already employs around 2,500 people in Košice. The company's representatives refused to comment on future plans vis-a-vis recruitment.
