Police Corps President Milan Lučanský has disbanded the team that investigated the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée, Martina Kušnírová, the police informed on Facebook.
The couple was murdered on February 21, 2018, in Veľká Mača (Trnava Region). It soon led to mass protests, the fall of the then-ruling government, and the resignations of several people within the police force.
As the team’s efforts have led to an indictment, filed with the Special Prosecutor’s Office on October 21, the police see no reason in keeping the team.
