THE HIGHEST bidder in the privatization of the Bratislava and Košice airports, the TwoOne consortium comprising the Slovak Penta group and Vienna airport, has submitted the worst development plan for the Bratislava airport, the Pravda daily wrote.
The information comes from an evaluation of the tender offers by SH&E, a British firm advising the Slovak cabinet on the airport privatization.
Although TwoOne offered the highest price of all bidders for both the Bratislava and Košice airports - over Sk15 billion (€394.7 million) - it also submitted the least realistic development plan until 2010 of the four shortlisted bidders, according to the advisory firm.
According to SH&E, the plan submitted by TwoOne is a "big disappointment" because it focuses "on what has to be done rather than how TwoOne will do it".
SH&E rated the plans submitted by the Abertis and ISAP consortia as the best. Abertis includes Slovak financial group J&T, while ISAP is lead by Germany's Köln/Bonn airport companies.
The development plan submitted by the fourth bidder, the Turkish TAV, fared as poorly as that of TwoOne.
