On July 29, Slovak Telecom introduced a new service called Euro ISDN, which had been on offer from July 1 in 37 Slovak towns. Peter Bad×Uk, chief of the ISDN division, said that these integrated digital net services allowed transmission of both data and pctures. The biggest advantage of the new service is that it uses the presently existing digital telephone net, and was designed not only for companies but also for ordinary people who long for higher quality service. Prices are almost the same as for normal telecommunication services, except that the customer has to pay a flat rate of approximately 1000 Sk monthly. People who pay for the service get two lines for either communication , for fax or use of the Internet. ISDN can be also used for video communication, desktop conferencing and easy access to Internet.
