Unions and employers agree on minimum wage hike

Labour Minister Viera Tomanová announced on Monday that the monthly minimum wage in Slovakia will go up to Sk8,100 (€ 244.6) as of October 1. Slovak Association of Employers (AZZZ) Vice President Peter Masár said that employers and trade unions had agreed earlier to the Sk500 (€15.1)wage hike.

Along with the wage increase, social insurance premiums and health insurance premiums will also go up, since the minimum wage serves as the lowest base for calculation of these premiums.
