Trade unions might start pursuing early elections through a referendum if the cabinet does not meet their demands.
Trade Unions Confederation (KOZ) president Ivan Saktor announced that the unions will only support political parties that pursue programs similar to the KOZ agenda.
Opposition Smer is supportive of the idea of early elections. "If the cabinet does not meet its promises, then the effort of trade unions are legitimate," Smer's Robert Kaliňák told SME daily.
Another opposition deputy, Sergej Kozlik from the Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) disagrees with the unions, saying they should stick to typical methods like strikes.
